Mel says "It seems like just yesterday that I left Florida head'n for Nashville in my '49 Mercury with a busted windshield, a pregnant wife and $29.00 in my pocket. 2002 marks my 46th year in the music business. If I lost it all tomorrow, I guess I could say it only cost me $29.00 and it's been one heck of a ride!"
I bet Mel never dreamed that one day he would be considered one of the greatest county artists of all time. He's an accomplished singer/songwriter and actor who's recorded over 60 albums with thirty-six Top Ten singles. Good Woman Blues, Coca Cola Cowboy, and Southern Rain to mention a few.
Mel's career began in the early 50’s with a group called
"The Westerners" while serving as a baker in the United States Air Force, stationed in Okinawa. In 1956, Webb Pierce recorded a song written
by Mel entitled I’m Tired launching Mel’s musical career.
Since then Mel’s been inducted into the
Nashville Songwriters International Hall of Fame, named Country Music Association’s (CMA) Entertainer of the Year and won Comedian of the Year for six years in a row. He’s also a recipient of a Golden Voice Entertainer Award,
a Golden R.O.P.E. Songwriter Award, been inducted into The Grand Ole Opry and is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity
to see one of the greatest county legends of our time!

If rock n’ roll is what feeds your soul, then you don’t wanna miss this show!
With over 25 million records sold worldwide, Grand Funk is the second group (after the Beatles) to sell out New York's Shea Stadium. We’re An American Band, Some Kind Of Wonderful, Heartbreaker, I’m Your Captain/Closer to Home, Inside Looking Out, and Into the Sun – are a small sampling of how
Grand Funk earned their place in history.
Founding members Don Brewer and Mel Schacher are joined by veterans
Max Carl (38 Special) Bruce Kulick (KISS) and Tim Cushion (Bob Seger)
for what guarantees to be the one of the best rock shows you've ever seen.
This is ROCK in its purest form, powerful, memorizing and quite addictive!
That’s the only way I can describe this soulful American Band.
This much talent on one stage can mean only one thing;
we need a bigger stage!
